Anima Arts

Supporting children and families in movement, creativity & health.

Our Mission

Anima Arts is a public health organization supporting the health and wellness of children and their families through arts-based movement education.

Move. Grow. Connect.

We serve Northern Colorado families and children in preschool & elementary schools, community centers, libraries, art spaces, public health events, and more.

What People Say

Mimi is an incredible dancer and educator. Her ability to connect with students of all ages, abilities, movers and non-movers alike is seamless, joyful, and energetic. She meets students where they’re at but manages to simultaneously gently push them outside of their comfort zones through self-expression and discovery. Mimi is the rare kind of teaching artist who can make dance accessible to all, through helping students understand how their bodies move and why movement is essential for their mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.”

Theatre Maker

Join our Classes and Events

Anima Arts offers weekly classes, residencies, workshops and seasonal events throughout Colorado. Join us for a class or event in the space nearest to you.

Children’s Creative Movement

Our children’s programs celebrate the way children experience the world; through curiosity, exploration, and play. We use dance, movement, games and props to explore themes inspired by nature, art, and adventure. Our classes are student-centered, engaging, interactive, adaptive, and access multiple intelligences and modalities.

Families Moving Together

Our family classes celebrate community, joy and play in action. With our facilitators guiding experimentation and self-expression through movement, families’ bodies, minds, and spirits move together for learning, healing, and transformation. Our family classes help us experience our children and parenting in new ways and grow our relationships and connections.

Community Events

Our Nourish Community Events bring families together in movement, art, networking and community building with a shared goal of supporting children’s well-being. Partners specializing in child and family supports offer knowledge, resources and conversation. In addition, we offer workshops & exchanges specific to educators & caregivers seeking to meaningfully engage with children through art and movement.
